AMERGINT’S engineering team is looking for a hardware and software Lab Technician/Lead to build and maintain the labs and infrastructure used by our hardware (HW) and software (SW) development, test, research, and product development teams. The Lead will continually evolve and improve the lab capabilities crucial for the continued growth of AMERGINT and the mission-critical solutions we deliver for U.S. Space initiatives. The Lead will work closely with internal groups to define, scope, plan, and execute critical shared lab requirements and needs. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Core Responsibilities

  • Organize, inventory, and track tools, systems, cables, workbenches, racks, and storage of mission-critical systems
  • Collaboratively define and prioritize lab projects and tasks
  • Maintain safe and clean lab(s)
  • Initiate purchases of lab equipment; maintain contact with vendors to determine availability and cost to meet the needs of the team on time
  • Work with HW and SW teams to forecast when new lab capabilities will be required so changes can be made prior to causing project delays
  • Maintain a lab budget and track the amount spent vs. the approved budget
  • Continuously improve, adapt, and grow lab capabilities
  • Be responsible for the multiple labs at AMERGINT
  • Work with the facilities team to help plan for growth and lab infrastructure additions

Required Skills


  • Associates of Science or attending school for Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is a plus
  • At least 5+ years of work related experience
  • Extremely organized, thorough, and detail-oriented
  • Propensity to understand and properly maintain test equipment (VNA, O-Scope, Spec A, Sig Gen, BER) 
  • Experience with the Linux Operating System, including installation, setup, and troubleshooting of networks and servers
  • Experience with version control tools, such as SVN 
  • Passion for fostering good engineering practices and processes 
  • Willingness to learn new technology, techniques, and approaches 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to obtain required training and security certifications
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of how SW/FW/HW are interconnected a plus
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence, or similar tools, is a plus
  • Knowledge of Python, Bash, and Ansible scripting is a plus
