AMERGINT Technologies and Orbital ATK have successfully completed Telemetry, Ranging and Commanding using AMERGINT's satTRAC Modem/Baseband Unit (Modem/BBU) to an Orbital ATK STAR2 satellite.

Orbital ATK conducted tests to demonstrate full operational compatibility of the satTRAC Modem/BBU with satellites manufactured by Orbital ATK.

"The satTRAC modem was practically plug and play", said Dave DeTroye, RF Integration and Test Manager at Orbital ATK. "Orbital ATK has been using AMERGINT’s modem for several years with much success, providing a high level of confidence for commercial customers.”

“The additional demonstrated capability with Orbital ATK’s STAR2 satellite makes satTRAC a very compelling choice for ground station operators to implement the next generation technology,” remarked Jeff Papenfuss, Vice President of AMERGINT's Waveform Products Group.

satTRAC is a pure software telemetry, ranging, and commanding modem/BBU with all waveform processing accomplished in structured re-usable software modules powered by AMERGINT’s softLINK architecture. The operational hardware is generic, economical, and highly reliable. Unlike legacy modems, satTRAC modem/BBUs are more easily cyber-hardened for increased operational security. satTRAC offers satellite manufacturers and operators a modern pure software architecture delivering increased reliability and reduced total life-cycle cost.

satTRAC modem/BBUs do not require an export license for international sales.

AMERGINT is demonstrating the satTRAC Modem/BBU at the Satellite 2015 show March 17-19.
